Units, Buildings, and Profiles
11.1Profiles
Every battlefield entity in Post Galactica uses a profile.
A profile may represent:
- A squad of infantry
- A lone monster
- A vehicle
- A building
- A hero or commander
- A swarm or horde
- A drone cluster
- A war machine
All profiles use the same core stats unless a datasheet says otherwise.
11.2 Core Stats
| Stat | Description |
|---|---|
| Movement | How far the unit may move during the Movement Phase. |
| Toughness | How difficult the unit is to wound. |
| Cohesion | The profile’s total durability. Damage reduces Cohesion. |
| Body Value | How much Cohesion each individual model in the profile has. |
| Ranged Skill | Used for ranged attacks. Lower values are better. |
| Melee Skill | Used for melee attacks. Lower values are better. |
| Armor | Increases the target number required to wound the unit. |
| Presence | Determines objective control strength. |
| Supply | How much Supply the profile uses. |
| Tags | Keywords used by rules and abilities. |
If a stat is 0, the unit cannot use that stat.
Examples:
- A unit with Ranged Skill 0 cannot make ranged attacks.
- A building with Movement 0 cannot move.
- A unit with Melee Skill 0 cannot make melee attacks unless a rule allows it.
11.3 Cohesion and Body Value
Cohesion is the total amount of damage a profile can take before being destroyed.
Body Value shows how much Cohesion each individual model in that profile has.
Cohesion is written as:
Cohesion X (Y)
Where:
- X = total Cohion
- Y = Body Value
Example:
Cohesion 10 (1)
This means the profile has 10 total Cohesion and each individual model has a Body Value of 1.
11.4 Remaining Models
For profiles with multiple individual models, determine the number of remaining models with this formula:
Remaining Models = Current Cohesion ÷ Body Value
Round up.
A profile with any remaining Cohesion is still active unless a rule says otherwise.
Example:
A unit has Cohesion 6 (2). It begins with 3 models.
If it takes 2 damage, it drops to 4 Cohesion.
4 ÷ 2 = 2 models remain.
If it takes 1 more damage, it drops to 3 Cohesion.
3 ÷ 2 = 2 full model remains, with damage carried on the profile.
11.5 Presence
Presence measures how strongly a unit controls objectives
11.6 Tags
Tags are keywords used by abilities, missions, upgrades, and faction rules. Common unit tags include:
- Worker
- Builder
- Infantry
- Heavy Infantry
- Vehicle
- Walker
- Monster
- Drone
- Swarm
- Hero
- Commander
- Field
- Heavy
- Special
- Scout
- Stealth
- Transport
- Mechanical
- Organic
- Concordant Empire
- Ascended Nexus
- Ordarn Covenant
- BioMeld
- The Binary
Common building tags include:
- Command Center
- Production
- Supply
- Defense
- Tech
- Extractor
- Relay
- Fortification
- Unique
A rule that refers to a tag affects all profiles with that tag.
