Chapter 4
Battlefield Size, Measurement, and Scale
4.1Battlefield Size
Post Galactica may be played on several battlefield sizes.

The chosen battlefield size affects travel distance, resource density, expansion pressure, and game length.
4.2Hexes and Inches
Post Galactica may be played using hex movement or free measurement.
Before the game begins, players choose which method they are using.
4.3Hex Movement
If using hexes:
- Movement is measured in hexes.
- Weapon Range is measured in hexes.
- Adjacent means occupying a neighboring hex.
- Units may not move through enemy-occupied hexes unless a rule allows it.
- Units may not end movement in the same hex as another unit unless a rule allows it.
4.4 Free Measurement
If using free measurement:
- Each point of Movement equals 1 inch.
- Weapon Range is measured in inches.
- Adjacent means within 1 inch.
- Units may not move through enemy models or bases unless a rule allows it.
- Units may not end movement overlapping another unit or building unless a rule allows it.
4.5 Model Footprints
A profile may be represented by one model, several models, a base, a tray, or a token.
A profile may represent:
- A squad of infantry
- A lone hero
- A monster
- A vehicle
- A building
- A swarm
- A drone cluster
- A war machine
If a profile represents multiple models, its remaining model count is determined by Cohesion and Body Value.
